Now that 2017 has come to a close, we here at the iLIKEBUS office are looking back at our year. For most of us, it was full of adventure, fun, and travel. But, as with any year, there are improvements we could make. Here is a look at a few of our resolutions for 2018 and how we plan on making our travel lives more robust.
Go Somewhere New
Humans are creatures of routine. We find comfort in repeated patterns; it causes less stress as we grow more familiar with our processes. However, comfort can sometimes lead to apathy if there is no change at all. This year, many of us in the office pledge to go somewhere new. Our partners offer bus lines that range from New York to Florida to Illinois; there is no excuse to go somewhere out of your comfort range, so this year, we are going to make sure we venture into the unknown.
Make Travel Fun
One of the main reasons people don’t travel is due to the slog. Let’s be honest: it can be a hassle to pack up everything and take the time to drive, fly, or ride to your destination. It all feels a bit like wasted time, like you’re pacing in place and counting down the minutes before you arrive at your destination. And you end up with little to do to occupy your mind as you wait for time to pass. No longer will we let ourselves be beholden to the idea that travel can’t be fun. It’s not like we don’t have options; many of our partners’ buses are outfitted with Mega WiFi, the highest quality wireless internet services that buses have to offer with download speeds equitable to the top airlines. We resolve to remain engaged and entertained by utilizing these tools to their full potential.

After taking a trip, many people fall into what we call the post-travel blues. After you come back from an amazing trip, sometimes there is a bit of a let down as you come back to your reality (if you’re interested in learning more, there is a wonderful article about it here). It can definitely be a hard transition to make, and one that many of us here at the iLIKEBUS office have gone through before.
